Thermal Balance of Ventilated Façades in Winter and Summer: Green vs. Cladding
Chabada, Marek ; Durica, Pavol ; Juras, Peter
The application of vegetation to building structures is becoming an increasingly hot topic for mitigating the negative effects of summer overheating. The benefits are particularly significant in the summer months, extending also into the colder months of the year. Few papers are devoted to analysing the effects during the winter months. This paper demonstrates the results of comparing facades with vegetated walls and wood cladding in winter and summer. The measured results indicated that a vegetated façade effectively cools the surrounding space during the summer months and retains heat throughout the winter months.

Kindergarten FUTURUM
Csöbönyei, Thelma ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The bachelor thesis follows up on a studio project created in the summer semester of the 3rd year of my bachelor´s study. The aim of the project was to design a new kindergarten in the Brno-střed district. The kindergarten has two departments, both with a capacity for 24 children. The plot is located in the northeast of Havlíčkova Street. The terrain is significantly sloping. The large slope on the side of Havlíčkova Street is overcome by a huge ramp, which will also serve as an educational trail and a pleasant arrival every day before kindergarten. Between the ramp and the kindergarten there is a garden for children to play. The slope on the other side of the plot is used for a smooth entrance to the first underground floor from the grammar school side. The kindergarten building has a square shape and one above-ground floor, where the kindergarten management and the main part of the operation are located. The building is single-story with partial basement. In the basement there are the technical facilities, facilities for food preparation and staff. On the northwest side of the building, two classes are symmetrically spread out with a shared cloakroom in the middle. The building´s façade has wooden cladding, which is cut around the openings so that they look playful by creating geometric shapes. The main intention was to create a pleasant environment for children, to which they will be happy to return every day.
Construction technology stage of the perimeter shell of the elementary school in Slažany
Kozla, Dávid ; Nečasová, Barbora (referee) ; Diaz, Yvetta (advisor)
This bachelor thesis solves the building-technological phase of the perimeter shell of the elementary school in Slažany. Specifically, it deals with the cladding of the wooden superstructure of the 3rd floor of the primary school building and the additional insulation of the existing floors. The shell of the superstructure is covered with a wooden cladding and filled with mineral wool insulation. Additional insulation is designed as a contact from facade polystyrene boards. The work is elaborated technical report, thermal assessment of cladding, technological procedures at given stage, transport solution including design of the machine assembly and situation, budget stage with report statement, principles of organization of construction including technical report and drawing of construction site, control and test plan, time schedule and safety.
Apartment resort Velké Karlovice
Malý, Jan ; Tomášová, Klára (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the construction of an apartment resort in Velké Karlovice. There are two existing buildings on the plot, which will be reconstructed and changed to apartment houses. In the southern part of the plot one new building will be built, which will also be used as an apartment house. The complex is located in the village of Velké Karlovice, in Zlín region, more specifically in the part of the village called Leskové. The whole village falls under the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. The apartment resort will be used mainly for short-term rental of individual apartments. Due to the mountainous area, winter use for skiers and summer use for cyclists and hiking is expected. The reconstructed building will be four-storey with a gable roof. On the first floor there will be garages and cellars, for example for storing skis or bicycles. The other floors will then be used for apartments with two or three living rooms and a kitchenette. In the new building, each apartment will be two-storeyed, with a cellar, bathroom with toilet and living room with kitchenette on the first floor and two living rooms on the second floor. In total, there will be 18 apartments in the renovated buildings and 12 apartment units in the new building.
Crematorium
Hančík, Dominik ; Kacálková, Lenka (referee) ; Kacálek, Petr (advisor)
The Master´s thesis deals with the development of project documentation for the crematorium in the Mařatice district near Uherské Hradiště. The new building is located in the eastern part of Mařatice and is designed in a locality that, by its nature, represents areas for the construction of public cemeteries and related services. The proposed new crematorium building will be a free-standing, partly two-storey and partly basement building. The object will fulfill the requirements for a sacred building. The building is based on foundation belts made of plain concrete locally supplemented with foundation footings in place of supporting reinforced concrete columns. The building is divided into three basic sections, which are divided according to their function into the section associated with performing the last farewell, the section used for cremation and the + section. The new building is designed as a partly two-storey and partly basement building with a dominant projecting part, which has the task of imagining a long path dividing two different worlds. Part of the partial basement is designed with regard to the possibility of creating separate parking spaces for crematorium employees. The first above-ground floor is barely a part of the entire new building, and all traffic is designed on this level. The partial second above-ground floor is situated in SECTION A – i.e. in the premises used for holding the last farewells. This floor is designed with the growing trend of accompanying these devotional acts with a live band. Structurally, the object is designed as a classic brick building on the 1st floor level - partially the sub-basement is structurally formed by fittings of lost formwork. The ceiling structure will be made in combination as a heavy monolithic reinforced concrete ceiling slab supplemented with prestressed Spiroll ceiling panels. The roof structure of the entire building is solved with the help of extensive flat roofs in several height levels. These structures are designed with a slope of 3%. The exterior facade of the proposed new building will be made of three different materials. The individual type of facade materials used depends on the individual sections of the new building. The first type of facade is solved by a type of ventilated structure covered with wooden cladding of the Rhombus species from larch wood. The second type of facade is again chosen as a ventilated structure with cladding made of large-format sheet metal templates with the character of folded sheet metal. The third type of facade is then covered with colored pasty silicate plaster in white.

Kränková, Anna ; Valenta, Michal (referee) ; Bantová, Sylva (advisor)
The diploma thesis with the topic of Kindergarten Strž processes project documentation at the level for building construction. The building is in the outskirts of the village of Dvur Králové nad Labem. The land is located on flat terrain. The main purpose was to create a pleasant and at the same time modern kindergarten environment for children. One floor above, we will find only one kindergarten classroom, as well as a children's clubhouse with facilities and a large terrace with the possibility of entry. It is a simple T-shaped composition with the main entrance from the east side. The colour solution of the building is primarily a combination of white colour with wooden cladding and colourful motifs on the facade. The building is based on plain concrete foundations. Vertical load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures will form walls made of ceramic blocks. The entire building is insulated with a contact heating system. The horizontal structures are reinforced concrete monolithic. The building is covered with a single-layer flat roof.
